Following the events of June 24th, brands have had to adapt their advertising strategies. Promotional campaigns for fashion and non-essential goods are starting to resurface, just in time for the holiday season and the upcoming return to school.
Faced with a shortage of traditional bank credit, the Venezuelan market is seeking strategic alternatives where "buy now, pay later" (BNPL) methods are gaining increasing ground, driving the emergence of new applications focused on bridging the gap left by formal financing. In this context, retail chains and the retail They are betting heavily on installment payment platforms—like Cashea—combined with partnerships with co-branding Together with manufacturers, a formula that allows for boosting inventory turnover, optimizing costs, and strengthening consumer loyalty in an environment of economic adjustment.
Because the traditional business of lending and charging interest is severely limited in Venezuela, banks have had to reinvent themselves to remain profitable. Their main solution has been to partner with businesses (supermarkets, stores, airlines) to launch co-branded products, allowing them to earn money through commissions on each purchase and offer other financial services to those same customers.
In this strategy, everyone involved benefits: stores bear the cost of offering discounts to attract more shoppers, customers enjoy exclusive promotions that motivate them to stay with the bank, and financial institutions secure a steady source of income without assuming the risks of traditional credit.
Such is the case with the BNC SoyTechno Visa Credit Card, a co-branded product between Banco Nacional de Crédito and the SoyTechno chain. It offers an 8% automatic discount on purchases in their stores or online, up to 6 months of financing, TechnoBits points accumulation, and compatibility with Cashea down payments. Or take the example of the giant Damasco group, which, in partnership with Mercantil and Banco Nacional de Crédito, created its own platform to compete with major players like Cashea and cultivate brand loyalty among its customers.
This time, the launch of a card resulting from the alliance between Banco Mercantil and Farmatodo was unofficially announced. Details are still unknown; it's unclear whether it will be a debit or credit card, or whether it has received approval from Sudeban, as neither company has confirmed the matter.
