This is Guaira, as they named her, a kitten rescued after Felix, on Sunday, August 2nd at eight forty-five minutes past the night, in OPP 26. With a guarded prognosis and very weak, she was attended to immediately.
Guaira was taken to the McDonald's veterinary hospital in Caraballeda. Blood samples were taken for evaluation, and she remains hospitalized and under observation, receiving all necessary support.
He has been gradually recovering. On Wednesday, August 4th, he began receiving food, little by little. His condition remains delicate and his prognosis is guarded, however, he has shown improvement.
Life under the rubble continues to surprise even the most skeptical with these rescues. And that's why rescuers, animal rights activists, and foundations are asking for support. Not just food, medicine, or supplies, but also cages, orange sacks, kennels, and a call to thoroughly inspect buildings before demolishing them, and to adopt one of the many rescued animals who may never be reunited with their families.

Captain, another kitten rescued alive, this time from the Caribe Residences, was found under the rubble in the parking lot on Wednesday, August 5th. With the help of neighbors and rescuers, they managed to pull him out. He is quite dehydrated and disoriented. The rescue team chose the name Captain.

The captain needed oxygen, and although there was a tank at the McDonald's, it was empty.
