Monkey that was kidnapped returned to its habitat

Some visitors had captured it with the intention of selling it illegally.

Amidst the joy of the community and visitors, the news was confirmed of the return of a monkey named Pepín to his natural habitat at the Pozo Azul tourist center. The information was shared by the governor of Amazonas state, Miguel Rodríguez, who emphasized the importance of protecting local wildlife and raising awareness about the care of natural spaces.

Pepín, who arrived in Pozo Azul as a young child after being orphaned, has become a living symbol of the place. However, his safety was recently threatened when some visitors kidnapped him with the intention of illegally selling him.

Fortunately, thanks to its instinct and courage, the animal managed to escape its captors on its own. During its escape, it was found wandering by an anonymous animal rescuer, who provided temporary shelter and immediately contacted the rescuer to ensure its safe return home.

Following this moving event, the authorities and administrators of the resort have reiterated an urgent call for conservation and respect for wildlife. Tourists and locals are reminded of the importance of not removing animals from their natural habitat.
