More than 1.900 families in the Páez municipality of Yaracuy state benefited from various projects aimed at optimizing public services and ensuring food security for their members.
The mayor of the jurisdiction, Carlos Puerta, highlighted this Friday that the central actions include the reactivation of specialized machinery for garbage collection, the paving of the main roads, the replacement of streetlights and an operational deployment of food for the most vulnerable sectors.

The local mayor indicated that he has recovered and put into service a second compactor truck, equipped with a 1721 model chassis and a compactor box with an optimal capacity of 20 cubic yards. This unit will improve solid waste collection services throughout the municipality.
Puerta commented that the work included the complete renovation of the engine and the hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems, with resources provided by the Federal Government Council and coordination with the regional and national levels.
“With the addition of this operational vehicle, the collection routes in the three districts that make up the municipality are normalized,” he emphasized.
Complementary works in the urban area
The mayor also detailed that pothole repair and asphalt resurfacing work has begun in the jurisdiction, with the first phase involving the application of 100 tons of asphalt. He added that the work started on Libertador Avenue, where an estimated 25 tons of asphalt will be applied.
He emphasized that the project is part of a larger initiative coordinated with President Delcy Rodríguez and Governor Leonard Intoci, with the goal of progressively improving urban roads in different sectors of the municipality.
“We will maintain a constant operational deployment to guarantee the development of infrastructure projects and the improvement of public spaces for the benefit of the community,” the local leader emphasized.
For his part, Juvenal Torres, a resident of the 23 de Mayo sector of Sabana de Parra, positively assessed the road recovery work being carried out in the area.
“These road improvements provide us with safety and improve traffic conditions, which, in turn, directly benefits the residents and passersby of our community,” Torres noted.
Similarly, the mayor pointed out that the first phase of the public lighting plan has been completed, which included the installation of 290 light fixtures on main roads. Additionally, road marking and lane repainting were carried out on the service road, complementing the urban transformation of the town with the support of organized communities and national and regional authorities.
Finally, I would like to mention that the municipality activated a supply operation in seven communities in the municipal capital, Sabana de Parra. In this phase, more than 1.900 bags of food containing essential basic food items were distributed at subsidized prices.
