The 112 communes and communal circuits of the state of Yaracuy formally began the process of debate and popular assemblies with a view to the National Popular Consultation scheduled for October 18, 2026.
This was reported on Tuesday by the governor of the state, Leonardo Intoci, who said that the sessions began over the weekend, with popular assemblies where communities evaluate, ratify and select the proposals that will be included on the electoral ballot of each territory.
He noted that the assemblies have the support of national, regional, and municipal authorities to help coordinate the actions.
For example, in the San Javier sector of the San Felipe municipality, the General Manuel Cedeño agroecological commune, made up of nine communities, served as a reference point for the review of community projects.
The activity, carried out over the weekend, brought together dozens of residents from the participating sectors, who, with the support of Intoci, the deputy to the National Assembly Ricardo Molina and the mayor of San Felipe, Rogger Daza, validated the proposals aimed at addressing infrastructure, services and socio-productive development.
“The municipalities have embraced the task and the responsibility. The responsible and transparent use of the resources they receive shows a clear commitment to what lies ahead,” the regional leader asserted.
Self-management and support throughout
The governor emphasized that direct management by the people's power allows maximizing the performance of budget allocations in partnership with state governments and municipalities.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of residents participating in training programs and knowledge recognition in community government offices to strengthen self-management and lead the projects that are implemented.
Finally, he noted that the assemblies will update the projects that will be evaluated in the national popular consultation on October 18, “with the full support of the National, regional and municipal Government, and the ratification of the unitary commitment of the communal circuits to the country's recovery agenda.”
