This Tuesday, Colombian ex-president Álvaro Uribe arrived at an investigation in the Supreme Court of Justice for an open process against him for alleged procedural fraud and bribery of witnesses.
Uribe has more than fifty prosecutions opened for various crimes, mostly for alleged links with paramilitaries and complicity with massacres; however, it will go into inquiry for one who can be considered the least serious of all.
It consists of a lawsuit that the former Colombian president himself filed five years ago against his antagonist, senator Iván Cepeda, of the left-wing Polo Democrático Alternativo party, whom he accused of seeking former paramilitaries in jails to use as false witnesses in order to testify Against him, specifically having founded the Metro Block of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC), collects News24.
The beginning of the situation arose after Cepeda accused him of maintaining ties with paramilitary groups and drug traffickers in a debate with Uribe, for which reason the former president decided to prosecute him.
