The country is on alert, my people. Everything seems to indicate that the Americans are planning to attack us from the Trinidad and Tobago side. The Government published a statement yesterday announcing the capture of a mercenary group "with direct information from the US intelligence agency, CIA," which allows us to determine that a false flag attack is underway from Trinidad and Tobago to generate "a complete military confrontation" against the country.
"Venezuela denounces a military provocation by Trinidad and Tobago in coordination with the CIA to launch a war in the Caribbean," Vice President Delcy Rodríguez wrote on social media alongside the official statement.
A false flag operation is a covert military or political act committed with the intent of blaming another entity for the act. The term derives from the concept of raising a flag other than one's own to confuse, a common practice on pirate ships, or to deceive the enemy into believing the attack is coming from another side.
This comes as Trinidad and Tobago conducts joint military exercises with U.S. troops under the command of Southern Command. The guided-missile ship Gravely arrived in Port of Spain yesterday, and the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford, reportedly the largest of its kind in the world, is expected to join it in the coming days. These exercises will reportedly continue until Thursday, October 30.
In the released text, the Venezuelan government accuses Trinidadian Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of acting subserviently to US hegemonic interests and of turning her territory "into a US aircraft carrier for war throughout the Caribbean against Venezuela, Colombia, and all of South America."
This behavior violates the United Nations Charter, the CELAC-approved proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a "zone of peace," and the principles of CARICOM. This is not a defensive exercise but rather a "hostile provocation" that seeks to turn the Caribbean into a space for lethal violence and U.S. imperial dominance.
Venezuela also calls Kamla Persad-Bissessar's government "repressive and criminal," "shooting at its own people," and celebrating the fact that Trinidadians are "being summarily executed while opening the door to murderous foreign troops," referring to the complaint by Trinidadian fishing families about the October 14 killing of two men in an attack on a boat that Trump claimed was transporting drugs.
He also says that Venezuela will not be intimidated by military exercises or war cries and that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces will remain alert and mobilized in the face of this provocation.
The government has repeatedly stated that the United States is planning an action similar to the historic events of the Battleship Maine, which sparked the war against Spain to seize Cuba in 1898, and the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which led to the authorization of the U.S. Congress to become involved in the eternal war against Vietnam in 1964. So, beware.
Trump's plans
It's a foregone conclusion. You know Trump has already confirmed that he will order "ground attacks" as a "next step" to the attacks he has carried out on boats in the Caribbean.
Yesterday, American Senator Lindsey Graham said in an interview that Trump himself had personally told him he would go to Congress to present his plans to attack both Venezuela and Colombia.
“President Trump told me yesterday that he plans to brief members of Congress upon his return from Asia on possible future military operations against Venezuela and Colombia.”
The White House, in principle, according to American law, needs parliamentary permission to attack another country. But hey, we know Trump couldn't care less about the laws of his own country.
Trump is in Malaysia for the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit. There, incidentally, he met with Lula da Silva. In addition to discussing his own affairs (they agreed to suspend the tariffs Trump had imposed on Brazilian imports), Lula offered Trump the role of liaison between the US and Venezuela.
This is what Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said:
"President Lula raised the issue and said that Latin America and South America, specifically where we are, is a region of peace, and he offered to be a contact, an interlocutor, as he has been in the past, with Venezuela, to seek solutions that are mutually acceptable and correct."
Venezuela prepares
Meanwhile, the FANB conducted a comprehensive military exercise this weekend along the entire Caribbean coast called "Defense of the Coast Independence 200." Land, air, and sea deployments were carried out in the states of Zulia, Falcón, Carabobo, Aragua, Miranda, La Guaira, Anzoátegui, Sucre, and Nueva Esparta.
Major General Vladimir Padrino oversaw the operation. from Cerro Negro, in the La Pastora parish of Caracas. From there, you can see La Guaira.
"We are conducting scientific range exercises with our weapons system, for close-range exercises; La Guaira has always been a key to accessing strategic and commercial maritime spaces."
Consequences of supporting foreign aggression
On Friday, President Nicolás Maduro asked the Supreme Court of Justice to revoke the Venezuelan nationality of fugitive Leopoldo López, after he said in an interview that the United States' threat of war against Venezuela "is the right thing to do" and that he supports airstrikes on Venezuelan territory.
Vice President Delcy Rodríguez explained on social media on Saturday that Maduro is acting in accordance with Article 130 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Simón Bolívar Liberator Organic Law.
He specified that the action is a direct response to "López's illegal call for a military invasion of Venezuela, as well as his promotion of a permanent economic blockade and calls for mass murder of Venezuelans in complicity with foreign governments and enemies."
Rodríguez reported that "the Foreign Ministry and the Saime will proceed immediately, in accordance with the relevant procedures, to cancel the aforementioned person's passport."
The Caribbean bishops speak
Important news is that the Episcopal Conference of the Antilles, which incidentally has its headquarters in Port of Spain, capital of Trinidad and Tobago, He spoke out against the American military deployment in the Caribbean and against threats of war.
“The bishops of the Episcopal Conference of the Antilles observe with great concern the recent accumulation of naval and other military assets in the southern Caribbean and the potential implications this has for the socioeconomic, political, and humanitarian well-being of our region and its people.”
Communications Minister Freddy Ñáñez highlighted the contrast with the Venezuelan Episcopal Conference, which has so far remained silent on the threat facing our country.

Petro's successor

It is news that yesterday in the primaries of the Historic Pact Senator Iván Cepeda emerged victorious, which means this is the name the Colombian left will use for next year's presidential elections. Note that according to Colombian media reports, Cepeda still has to compete in March against another candidate chosen by centrist parties, to see if they can unite to confront the right on election day.
Just so you know, Iván Cepeda was the one who collected testimony from imprisoned former paramilitaries linking Álvaro Uribe to the creation of paramilitary groups in Antioquia. Uribe filed a complaint, but the court dismissed the case against Cepeda and instead opened a case against Uribe for witness tampering, as his lawyer paid several witnesses to alter their statements, in other words, to deny their ties to the paramilitaries. Uribe was convicted in that case.
The left wins in Ireland
Another positive electoral news is the victory of Catherine Connolly as President of Ireland. Connolly leads a progressive coalition comprised of the Labour Party, Sinn Féin, Social Democrats, People Before Profit, and the Green Party. Venezuela issued a statement congratulating to the president-elect and her alliance for this important victory.
Argentina: won Milei's match
On the other hand, in Argentina, things went the other way. Javier Milei's La Libertad Avanza party emerged stronger in the parliamentary elections, winning 40% of the vote. However, he still has to negotiate in Congress to approve things. Donald Trump intervened in this election when he made the $20 billion swap he was going to grant Milei conditional on the outcome of the parliamentary elections.
