Traffic is restricted on the Táchira-Apure highway due to damage to the Burgua bridge.

Heavy rains caused the central pillar of the bridge to collapse.

The bridge over the Burgua River, which connects the states of Táchira and Apure, suffered structural damage due to the heavy rainfall recorded in recent days.

Governor Freddy Bernal reported that the central pillar of the structure lost its strength and was swept away by the rising river. He also announced that vehicular traffic is completely restricted until further notice.

Finally, he called on citizens to take precautions and stay informed about the condition of this important road, which connects the municipalities of Fernández Feo in the state of Táchira and Páez in the state of Apure.
