A police-military commission entered the San Felipe Judicial Detention Center (Yaracuy) early this Friday to undertake the investigation. Operation Grand Cacique Guaicaipuro, according to reports.
The Minister of the Interior, Remigio Ceballos, led the deployment in the company of the general commander of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), Elio Estrada, Minister Celsa Bautista (Penitentiary) and the deputy director of the Bolivarian National Police Miguel Domínguez, as seen in a video to which we had access.
As in the other six prisons taken over by the Government, the Yaracuyano prison, known as La Cuarta, is managed by a criminal structure that in this case is directed by Freddy Barboza Lizarraga (La Charra), with Dennis Antonio Parra Rivero as collaborators ( El Chino) and another subject nicknamed El Miguelito, according to investigations.
This structure maintains links with the AK-47 criminal organization led by the alias Wilmer El Bachiller, which has cells in Yaracuy, Carabobo and Lara that carry out extortion, contract killings and drug sales, among others.
La Cuarta is the last prison facility that remained to be taken, from a list of seven establishments that were not guided by the policies of the Ministry for the Penitentiary Service.
Since last September 20, the Government began Operation Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro to exercise control within those seven prisons: Aragua Penitentiary Center as well as the judicial inmates of Carabobo (Tocuyito), José Antonio Anzoátegui (Puente Ayala, Barcelona), Monagas (La Pica), Bolívar (Vista Hermosa) and La Cuarta (San Felipe, Yaracuy).
