Three people arrested and the removal of boats is the partial result of a special operation aimed at protecting the marine ecosystem, carried out by officials of the Bolivarian National Police attached to the Police Directorate of Aquatic Spaces in the Los Juanes sector, located in Chichiriviche, Falcón state.
A statement from the PNB notes that the operation was motivated "due to the high level of environmental pollution recorded in the area."
The operation included the removal of boats and vendors from the area. Among those arrested were two men in charge of the yacht Reflection: Eduardo José Pirela and Daniel Emiro Soto Castellano, who were turned over to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
We must always prevent things like this from happening, and like the shameless act of those ignorant idiots who vandalized the Elorza festivities… Why are there so many imbeciles running around?
On this occasion I saw disorganization, a lot of recklessness on the part of some boatmen; the trips both to and from the islands were made at high speed.
A firm hand is needed. These ecosystems are very fragile and must be protected at all costs.
Edith Fuentes. An operation by the authorities to arrest, evict, or disperse thousands of people involved in the presence of alcohol and who knows what else would have caused unimaginable disorder and violence, and the usual protesters would already be shouting at this hour. That was the best action the authorities could have taken.
And where were the coast guards when this madness was happening? They should be more attentive when it comes to tourists at this time of year, taking precautions and providing security beforehand. I mean, I don't know.
They did what was legal and taught a lesson to the others who were in boats so they would know how to behave in the future.
