The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, reported that the building where the Trujillo Judicial Confinement Center operated until Tuesday will be converted into the headquarters of the National Experimental University of Security (Unes).
Ceballos made the announcement after the seizure of that prison as part of the Reimpulse to the Penitentiary System carried out by the Sectoral Vice Presidency of Citizen Security.
In the Trujillo Judicial Confinement Center there were 503 prisoners who remained in the custody of the Citizen Security bodies and the Ministry for the Penitentiary Service.
“Many of them already have more than half of their sentence served and measures correspond to them,” explained the Minister, who clarified that when the identification protocol for these inmates is completed, they will be relocated to establishments near Trujillo.
This is because the old infrastructure where the Boarding School operated will be conditioned for Unes.
Requisition
Ceballos offered a partial balance of the search carried out in the Trujillo prison and said that there they located 50 short weapons, 6 long weapons, 100 bladed weapons, 3 submachine guns, 9 hand grenades, 107 magazines, 2 thousand cartridges of different calibers and 28 cell phones. .
A criminal structure operated in that prison that committed misdeeds throughout Trujillo, as explained by the Minister.
This structure was commanded by Álvaro Enrique Montilla Briceño (El Loro) and César González (El Ñao), negative leaders who operated from that boarding school even though they had already served their sentence.
With the Trujillo Judicial Confinement Center there are now six prisons taken over by the Government since last September 20, according to reports from Minister Ceballos.
Of the 87 national prisons, seven were not under the policies of the Ministry for the Penitentiary Service. But of that group of seven, only the San Felipe Judicial Confinement Center (Yaracuy), also known as La Cuarta, remains to be addressed.
