Agents of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) raided a home in the Palo Seco sector, Julián Mellado municipality (El Sombrero), Guárico and recovered a Sukoy aircraft missile, according to military sources.
Agents from the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim) and Detachment 341 of the GNB participated in the procedure. The missile from the Russian-made fighter plane was hidden in a home belonging to Tomás Ramón García, who was detained, according to the military report.
They presume that the weapons were stolen from the Captain Manuel Ríos Military Air Base, located in El Sombrero (Guárico). Group 10, assigned to air defense, is located at that Base, according to reports.
The detainee was handed over to the Public Ministry where he will be prosecuted for theft of effects belonging to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
