A farm from where a cell of the Tren del Llano operated was raided by the Rapid Reaction Unit (Urra) whose military agents recovered a Light Automatic Rifle (FAL), according to military sources.
The procedure was carried out in the La Trinidad sector, José Félix Ribas municipality (Tucupido), Guárico state, specifically at the La Guillermera Farm. At that site were members of the El Ignacio group, associated with the Tren del Llano, who confronted the military officials. The subjects fled and that is when the Urra recovered the FAL with a magazine containing 20 cartridges, in addition to another magazine for an AK-103 rifle (20 bullets), a radio transmitter and four telephone devices, according to the initial report of Detachment 343 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), component that acts in “Operation Zaraza 2024”, aimed at the neutralization of the Llano Train cells scattered throughout the east of Guárico.
The aforementioned operation began last Tuesday in two sectors of Zaraza (San José and Barrialito) where five members of the El Pepón gang were killed, including its leader Yohanny Machuca.
Subsequently, the operation was deployed in rural sectors of Santa María de Ipire, such as Chaparrote-Curpino, where the military killed three associates of El Peón: Adolfo José González (El Galapago), Víctor Morabito Zamora (El Morabito) and Greiddy Nahomi Fajardo (La Chachi).
At the site, officials collected two 9 mm pistols (Glock 17, Pietro Beretta Mod-92), a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver, two pistol magazines, eleven 9 mm caliber cartridges and a bulletproof vest, according to a report from Urra and Detachment 343 of the GNB.
The El Pepón gang is dedicated to collecting vaccines from medium and small farmers in eastern Guárico. The same criminal practice applied to merchants and entrepreneurs of any branch, according to testimonies.
