Ronald Acuña Jr. reached 200 home runs

Ronald Acuña Jr. continues to reach milestones and make history in Major League Baseball. This Wednesday, the Venezuelan hitter reached 200 home runs in his career in the best baseball league in the world.

El patrolman Atlanta Braves' player finished the game 5-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, in addition to his 14th home run of the season, to lead his team to a 9-0 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Ronald Acuña Jr.'s home run came in the top of the seventh inning, in his fourth at-bat of the game. He faced right-hander Max Kranick and needed only one pitch to send the ball flying. The righty threw a 95.2 mph fastball that stayed high in the strike zone, and the Venezuelan launched it 379 feet over the left-field fence with two runners on base to make the game 6-0.

With his 200th career home run, the Venezuelan became the eighth active player to reach that milestone, and the fastest to do so. He is also the third Venezuelan to join the 200-200 club, along with Bob Abreu and José Altuve.

In 2026, the outfielder has had one of his lowest home run totals, matching his total from the pandemic season and one of his totals from 2022. Of his nine years in the Major Leagues, he has hit 20 or more home runs in five and surpassed 40 in only two (41 in 2019 and 2023). He also has 20 stolen bases and is six home runs away from reaching 20-20 for the third time.
