Mariano Rodríguez takes over as head coach of Deportivo La Guaira

Following the departure of Héctor Pablo Bidoglio, the board trusts the strategist to take the reins of the first team in the final stretch of the Clausura Tournament

Deportivo La Guaira officially announced the arrival of Mariano Rodríguez as their new head coach following the departure of Héctor Pablo Bidoglio. The manager takes over the coastal club with the mission of restoring consistency to the squad and securing qualification for the Clausura Tournament playoffs with only two matches remaining in the regular season.

The Guairá team is going through a period of transition after a rollercoaster tournament, in which they went from dominating the Apertura regular season undefeated to falling into a negative streak of only one win in their last six matches. Rodríguez takes over the team, which is currently in sixth place in the standings with 17 points.

The new manager's debut at the helm of the orange squad is scheduled for October 10th, when they visit Portuguesa FC in a key match for their aspirations.

Subsequently, the coaching staff led by Rodríguez will close the regular phase by hosting Trujillanos on October 18th at home.

The board of directors is confident that the arrival of Mariano Rodríguez will provide the necessary boost for Deportivo La Guaira to regain its dominance on the field, securing its place in the Liguilla and fighting for spots in international competitions next season, they stated on their social media this Thursday.
