Ferran Torres withdraws from the Spanish national team camp

The player will be replaced by Carlos Espí to face Czechia and Croatia

Spain's national team coach, Luis de la Fuente, confirmed that Paris Saint Germain (PSG) striker Ferran Torres will miss the match due to discomfort in his left ankle.

The information was released through a statement on the website of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), where they detailed that the player was immediately removed from the training camp to avoid further harm.

"Ferran Torres has left the Spanish national team camp. The Valencian international from PSG had been suffering from discomfort in his left ankle, which initially did not prevent him from training and playing, but given the persistence of the symptoms, it has been decided to withdraw the player from the squad to prioritize his recovery," the text reads.

"The doctors of the Spanish Federation have been in constant contact with the medical services of his club since the beginning of the training camp and the entire process has been followed jointly," the statement adds.

It was also confirmed that the young Real Madrid player, Carlos Espí, will take his place within the national team to be present in the two remaining matches for Spain against Czechia and Croatia in Oviedo and Split for the UEFA Nations League.

"Therefore, Luis de la Fuente has decided to call up Under-21 international Carlos Espí to join the senior national team camp and face the matches against Czech Republic and Croatia in Oviedo and Split," concludes the RFEF.
