Cocoa prices stabilize at $6.000 per ton

In the coming months, a significant increase in the future price of this commodity is expected as a result of the effects of the El Niño phenomenon on cocoa plantations.

The behavior of international cocoa futures prices in the second half of this year appears to be consolidating around the $6.000 per ton mark. According to the most recent report from the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO), the price stood at $6.204,94 (equivalent to €5.325,70 per ton) at the close of August 2026.

During the months of July and August 2026, the behavior of cocoa has reflected a trend of recovery and stabilization compared to the previous months of the year.

In July 2026, the ICCO reported monthly average stood at $5.613,94 per ton (€4.901,39 per ton), marking a substantial jump from the June average (which was around $4.395) and the low recorded in March, when futures reached lows close to $2.846-$3.200.
