Students from the Salto Ángel school in Maracaibo, Carlos Pérez, Sebastián Nieves and Daniela Montilla —all three 9 years old— will represent Venezuela at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2026 Open Championship, to be held in India, with an innovative machine that automates the drying process of cocoa beans for the chocolate industry.
Choco Tower is the name of this device that runs on 100% green energy and dries the grain using an advanced air treatment system with moisture extraction.
This is an invention developed over 10 months that significantly reduces the traditional drying time —which usually takes 6 to 8 days— to approximately 2 hours, without altering or changing the properties of the grain.
