The National Armed Forces (Fanb) that make up the Integral Defense Operations Zone (Zodi) Falcón No. 12 and citizen security agencies in the state of Falcón, will be in charge of guarding the facilities of the Cardón and Amuay refineries in the Peninsula of Paraguana.
The information was offered by the commander of the Zodi, V/A Edward Centeno Mass, who together with the Secretary of Citizen Security, G/B Miguel Morales Miranda, explained that this activity is added to the operation "Safe Christmas 2020", which has as its very specific objective the security of the community, protection of facilities, susceptible areas and daily visits at this time.
On this occasion, the high military chief in the entity said that the intention is to guarantee the physical safety of the workers of the Paraguaná Refining Complex (CRP) and of the communities, especially those of the Carirubana, Los Taques and Falcón municipalities, where the of citizen security and the Fanb will do whatever is necessary to continue guaranteeing peace, security and tranquility for all Venezuelans, he said.
As for the latest events that occurred at the Amuay refinery, Centeno Mass pointed out that from the same moment they acted forcefully in the protection of the facilities and the surrounding towns, for which he stated that patrol work is being carried out, police presence and intelligence work in order to gather important information about the events and situations that were generated.
I repudiate the attack
During his speech, the Governor of Falcón state, Víctor Clark, repudiated the balance of the COVID-19 in the region, the terrorist attack against the Amuay refinery in the Paraguaná peninsula.
On a regional chain, broadcast by radio stations and digital media, Clark described it as a new attack on the Homeland, perpetrated at Plant 4 of said refinery, claiming that the workers know that what happened has no technical explanation, because it was a malicious remote control attack , to cause chaos, said the governor.
Clark stated: "The macabre result of the attack against Plant 4 of the Paraguaná Amuay Refining Center is an event that we denounce before the world as an unprecedented act; its perpetrators are protagonists of violence, of nefarious acts that threaten the efforts of workers, of a working class that believes in its country."
The president stressed that in the region and in the city of Punto Fijo, there is no reason to be alarmed, so he invited the community to follow official instructions and not believe in "false information."
He reported that in a working meeting with the president of PDVSA, Tareck El Aissami, they analyzed the new aggression, which he describes as cruel and criminal, planned and executed from the right, in order to cause damage and a situation of calamity, to use the situation.
"We categorically reject this vile attack, we guarantee the production of fuel and the general operation of our industry, of our Paraguaná Refining Center," he said.
He also reported that criminal investigations are progressing to determine criminal responsibilities.
In these statements, the highest regional authority assured that the statements of opposition leaders only seek to support "the dark hands" and that they are completely false. He insisted on having evidence that confirms the attack perpetrated against the refinery.
