Since last March 13, when the State of Alarm was decreed in the country, in the state of Mérida 4.535 samples of PCR tests have been taken, for the diagnosis of covid-19, analyzes that are carried out at the National Institute of Hygiene in Caracas and whose results have been 3.085 negative and 258 positive.
Isaac Pérez, regional director of Epidemiology at Corposalud, reported that of the positive patients, 50 recovered, two people died, 37 results were inadequate, and the results of 945 samples are expected.
He argued that the municipalities Alberto Adriani and Tovar are the ones with the highest rate of infections with 36% and 17% respectively.
He urged citizens to prevent the spread of the virus in Merida and throughout the country, through the use of the mask, because the virus is transmitted from person to person. She also reiterated the importance of hand washing and not leaving their homes if it is not necessary.
