The construction of the Cacique Coromoto vial, in Guanare, Portuguese state, registers an average progress of 60% and is in charge of professionals and technicians who work with all the prevention and protection measures to avoid contagion from
COVID-19.

"In the midst of a pandemic, blockade and sanctions against the Venezuelan people, we continue working for our municipality," said the
Mayor of Guanare, Óscar Novoa, specifying that the work will be 50 meters in diameter, 3 circulation channels and will decongest the main entrance to Guanare, from the José Antonio Páez highway.

He reported that more than 1.500 cubic meters of asphalt and more than 700 cubic meters of concrete have been demolished in the work area, including sidewalks, curbs and other elements. More than 4.000 kilos of steel have also been placed to lift the main ring and the interior of the phial.

New icon

The Cacique Coromoto vial will link three Guanare avenues (Vargas, Simón Bolívar and Unda), at whose intersection the largest volume of vehicular traffic in the city is registered, and in the center it will have a 10-meter-high pedestal with the image of the Virgin of Coromoto.

Novoa stressed that the work will give greater visual appeal to the entrance to the city and will be "a new icon for the Guanareños", given the religious evocation of the Spiritual Capital of Venezuela, the name by which Guanare is known, for being the cradle of the appearance of the Patron Saint of Venezuela: the Virgin of Coromoto.
