With the start of a new month, the Maturín municipality implemented an adjustment to urban bus fares, structured according to the type of vehicle. The fares are now set at 220 bolivars for buses, 270 bolivars for minibuses, and 320 bolivars for shared taxis, reported José Maza, Director of Public Transportation for the Maturín municipality.
During his speech, Maza stressed that, although the base fares are already officially set, the final amounts may vary depending on the route and distance of the different routes operating in the city.
In this regard, the municipal transport authority made a strong appeal to professional drivers to strictly adhere to the prices agreed upon for the month of October, avoiding excessive or unauthorized charges that affect the users' wallets.
Likewise, in the context of the start of the school year, the institutional representative urged drivers of all lines to guarantee priority attention and compliance with the preferential fare intended for students of different educational levels, as well as for people with disabilities and senior citizens who use this public service daily.
The transportation authority reiterated the importance of promoting a culture of respect on public roads and urged both transporters and the general public to make proper and conscious use of authorized stops, respecting traffic light timings and obeying road signs, with the firm purpose of ensuring traffic flow and consolidating an environment of healthy coexistence on the main arteries of Maturín.
