A 20% increase in tourism to Margarita Island is expected this Easter.

Hotels are already showing 80% occupancy, expect the arrival of 27 daily flights, and ferries are full for both outbound and return journeys.

Margarita Island is projected to be very active this Easter 2026, with a 20% increase in visitors compared to the previous year.

The arrival of approximately 27 daily flights is expected, based on the frequencies scheduled by the airlines at Santiago Mariño Airport in Porlamar.

According to the president of Fedecámaras Nueva Esparta, Gabriel Briceño, it is estimated that between 17 and 20 flights a day would land on the Maiquetía-Porlamar-Maiquetía route alone.
The connections to Barquisimeto, Valencia, Puerto Ordaz and El Vigía are also quite full, according to travel agencies.

Briceño indicated that, although problems with services still persist, operators and hoteliers have invested to correct the failures and give tourists the best comfort this season.

He indicated that starting this Thursday the 26th, a significant arrival of vacationers to the island began to be noticed, which continued until Sunday; but on Monday the 30th and Tuesday the 31st of March and the first of April, the arrival is at its maximum demand.

According to Antonio De Abreu, president of the Nueva Esparta state Chamber of Tourism, they estimate that hotel occupancy exceeds 80 percent, demonstrating that tourists prefer to use hotel services for lodging.

He indicated that there is significant demand for sea tickets to the island, which is why operators have not been able to offer more ferry trips, because the dates are fully booked for both going to the island and returning.
