A total of 61 applicants took the written test in the public competition for credentials and opposition for the provision of positions of prosecutors and assistant prosecutors carried out by the Public Ministry, after passing the previous stages of registration, confrontation and evaluation of credentials, as well as the psychological exams.
The activity represents the fifth phase of the process and precedes a mandatory three-month specialized training program.
According to a press release, those who pass the academic course will have access to the final oral evaluation.
The competition responds to a constitutional mandate and, primarily, to the guidelines of the Organic Law of the Public Prosecutor's Office to staff the institution with career civil servants. Furthermore, it is being promoted as an open call that includes both practicing lawyers and officials from various public institutions.
Participants considered the ethical and technical significance of the process within the framework of the National Consultation on Criminal Justice Reform, as it strengthens the professionalization of the prosecutorial career and the pillars of these public officials, and renews citizen trust in the State's criminal action.
