Rehabilitation work continues at Unit 6 of Planta Centro and Termocarabobo

These works will guarantee the reincorporation of 600 MW into the National Electric System

The president of the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec), Juan Fernández Manrique, led a technical inspection at the Planta Centro Thermoelectric Complex and the Termocarabobo Power Plant, located in the state of Carabobo, to verify firsthand the rehabilitation work aimed at optimizing the energy supply in the central region.

During his tour of the facilities, the head of the state-owned electric company held working sessions with engineering teams and the workforce to review maintenance protocols. The work is primarily focused on Generation Unit No. 6 at the Planta Centro power plant, where technicians are carrying out corrective actions to strengthen the stability of the National Electric System.

These actions are part of the comprehensive recovery plan designed to overcome the aftermath of the seismic event of June 24, a disaster that caused damage to the transformation infrastructure and the collapse of high-voltage towers, reducing Termocarabobo's operating capacity by 600 MW.

With the current refurbishment works, the authorities are strengthening the progressive restoration of this important generation park.
