Bernabé Gutiérrez, a member of the National Assembly representing the Democratic Action (AD) party, He supported the energy agreement between Venezuela and the United States.
During the National Assembly session to present the Draft Agreement in Support of the Energy Agreement between Venezuela and the US, the deputy indicated that AD supports and approves the energy agreement.
"Today is an important day. We are here to consider, discuss, and approve the energy agreement. This energy agreement is already being discussed worldwide. Today, I come on behalf of the Democratic Action Party to say that we support and approve it," the congressman stated.
He stated that anyone who rejects the energy agreement is acting against Venezuelan interests.
"Anyone who opposes this energy agreement signed between President Donald Trump, President of the United States, and Dr. Delcy Rodríguez Gómez is acting against Venezuela's interests. It's an agreement where the Venezuelan state will sell 1.5 million barrels of oil per day and will receive approximately 209 billion dollars."
In that regard, Gutiérrez called for support for this agreement, which translates into great benefits for the people of Venezuela.
"I'm here to tell everyone who has raised this issue that today we should all be proud that Venezuela no longer has its oil buried underground, because with it buried there we could hardly solve anything. Extracting the oil and selling it will give it more value and allow us to solve our problems," he emphasized.
"Those who oppose these resources entering Venezuela to solve its problems, I have no doubt that they would prefer they didn't enter so they could continue criticizing the failure of services."
Gutiérrez also pointed out that the agreement only benefits Venezuelans, and therefore urged political organizations to support and approve this measure.
"Here we have Acción Democrática and this National Assembly, ready to wholeheartedly support this project so that we can all see our problems resolved. It's an agreement signed between two countries on the American continent. I ask all political organizations, all unions, all economic and social sectors—everyone—to support this agreement now, an agreement that benefits only and exclusively Venezuelans," he emphasized.
In a special session, the president of Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, asserted that the agreement between the United States government and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela "is not yet under discussion" by the Legislative Body, because the document has not been submitted by the parties involved.
