With the aim of guaranteeing the leading participation of the People's Power, operators and other actors in the sector, the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) is calling for a Public Hearing to be held next Monday, September 07, 2026.
The main purpose of the face-to-face meeting is the exchange of opinions on two proposals for fundamental legal instruments: the Draft Administrative Provision that dictates the General Conditions for the Establishment of a National Internet Traffic Exchange Point, and the Reform of the Administrative Provision containing the Attributes of General Authorizations, Conatel reported in a press release.
With these actions, the regulatory body seeks to incorporate these projects into the national legal system, in strict compliance with the Organic Law of Telecommunications.
Due to recent seismic events in the national territory, Conatel had previously extended the public consultation phase via email until August 03rd of this year, thus reaffirming its commitment to citizen participation.
The day will be governed by the following regulations:
Date and place: Monday, September 07, 2026, at the Conatel headquarters, located on Avenida Veracruz, Águila building, Las Mercedes urbanization, Baruta municipality, Miranda state. Starting at 02:00 pm
Attendees are urged to be punctual, as, due to logistical regulations, access to the venue will not be permitted after 02:15 pm.
The hearing will have a maximum development time of two (02) hours, counted from its start.
During the event, attendees will have the right to present their observations, comments, and technical contributions orally and in writing regarding the regulatory projects.
All contributions received on the premises will be formally recorded in the minutes.
With this initiative, the Commission reaffirms its firm commitment to updating and strengthening the regulatory framework for telecommunications in the country.
The constructive debate of these legal instruments, enriched by the active participation of operators and organized citizens, is a decisive step towards establishing clear rules that protect the rights of users, ensure the provision of efficient services for the entire nation, and promote the growth of the sector.

To Conatel: In the municipality of Guanipa, Anzoátegui, the radio station ELIT STEREO 104.3 FM operates within the territory of the Quintín Moya Commune. This station broadcast a two-hour program from Monday to Friday to the former mayor of El Tigre, Ernesto José Paraqueima Luiggi, where this individual uses vulgar, scatological language and shows a lack of respect for the listener. He even went so far as to speak very badly of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and the national government. As citizens, we request that an investigation be opened into this matter.
Time spent on social media should be regulated, and parents and guardians should be required to constantly supervise and control their children's devices, granting permission through platforms like Google to allow viewing and downloads and to encourage reading. Parents should also be involved in reading with their children and not leave them to their own devices.
