China strongly condemns US spying on its companies

A senior CIA official declared Chinese companies to be the target of espionage for national security reasons.

China's Ministry of Commerce today expressed a firm stance, stating its deep concern and strong opposition to remarks made by a senior official of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, who labeled Chinese companies as targets of espionage.

In response to this affront, the Chinese government demanded an immediate end to these hostile practices and warned that it would not tolerate violations of its technological sovereignty.

"The US side's blatant claims that Chinese companies are legitimate targets for espionage have pulled back the fig leaf behind which intelligence agencies covertly steal secrets, exposing in broad daylight the bandit logic of hegemony," a Chinese ministry spokesman said.

Sanctions warning and sovereign defense

Tensions escalated after CIA Deputy Director Michael Ellis confirmed espionage operations against companies in the Asian giant specializing in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and biotechnology.

Beijing warned that Washington is distorting the concept of national security to justify systematic economic aggression.

"China solemnly urges the US side to immediately cease all espionage activities against China, including those against Chinese companies, and to suspend all actions that undermine China's sovereignty, security, and development interests," the official spokesperson emphasized.

In response to these actions, the Chinese government reaffirmed its legal and operational capacity to respond. The Beijing administration asserted that it has the firm will and ample resources to decisively take the necessary measures in accordance with laws and regulations, such as the Counter-Espionage Law, to severely punish illegal and criminal acts and firmly safeguard the legitimate and legal rights and interests of Chinese companies.

Rejection of double standards and technological hegemony

The official position refuted Washington's arguments about alleged security threats, describing such pretexts as a zero-sum strategy inherited from the Cold War that sabotages the global market.

"The actions of US intelligence agencies to interfere with normal economic competition seriously damage the expectations of businesses worldwide and sabotage the global market environment for fair competition," the ministerial representative denounced.

The Chinese government also criticized the double standards of the United States, which makes unfounded accusations against its partners while deploying massive global cyber espionage networks. The spokesperson emphasized that China's scientific advancements are the result of national effort, not incentives for illicit appropriation.

"China's technological advances in fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and biotechnology are the fruit of the dedicated efforts of Chinese researchers and companies, by no means prey to be arbitrarily coveted by US intelligence agencies," the ministry concluded, while reaffirming that foreign harassment and coercion will never hinder the nation's scientific and industrial development.

  1. The United States, based on unfounded lies about its national security, wants to interfere wherever it pleases. China should display its military might, just as the US does, to persuade that country to see if it dares to generate a military conflict on an unimaginable scale. These hegemonic pretensions must be definitively stopped, because who gave Donald Trump the right to believe he owns and rules the world?
