The BRICS leaders unanimously adopted the New Delhi Declaration on Saturday, the definitive document outlining the bloc's geostrategic positions in the face of global tensions and establishing a roadmap focused on sovereign cooperation. The declaration was promulgated at the Bharat Mandapam convention center, under the chairmanship of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The approved text consolidates a categorical stance against any form of interference in the internal affairs of states. In this regard, the bloc emphasized the unrestricted application of international law, advocating for a balanced multipolar system that categorically rejects unilateral coercive measures, secondary sanctions, and economic blackmail policies promoted by Western powers that undermine the free independence of nations.
During the deliberations, the Iranian delegation strongly condemned the aggression and systematic violence perpetrated by the United States against sovereign nations, denouncing the use of coercive mechanisms and hegemonic blocs that seek to subjugate independent nations through financial blockades and political destabilization. Tehran urged the bloc to consolidate economic alternatives and mutual defense mechanisms to protect the Global South from US interventionism.
For its part, the Indian delegation took a firm stance against the military actions and genocide perpetrated in the Gaza Strip, demanding an immediate end to indiscriminate attacks against the civilian population, full respect for ceasefire agreements, and the uninterrupted opening of humanitarian corridors. New Delhi also emphatically condemned the armed conflicts in the Middle East—including the escalation of hostilities and the risk of war surrounding Iran—and advocated for the peaceful resolution of conflicts through diplomacy and multilateral dialogue.
The document's validation was achieved after intense diplomatic negotiations that continued until the early hours of the morning due to the complexity of the international situation. The consensus reached reaffirms the cohesion of the organization, comprised of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, along with Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia. As a closing event to the plenary session, the host government commemorated the bloc's twentieth anniversary with the unveiling of two commemorative postage stamps.

Excellent strategy; the peoples of the Global South are closely following the development of this mechanism, and we support and applaud it, as long as it continues to support humanity…
