This Saturday the Coffee Festival "Root and Aroma of Coffee" will be held in the Unda municipality, located in the upper zone of the Portuguesa state, refers to an AVN note.
The event will give the coffee growers the opportunity to present to the people a sample of all the processes associated with the grain, from planting to the presentation of the cup and its tasting.
The activity will bring together representatives of different coffee shops in the town and the Chacao municipality, including Quiero 1 Café, Coanca, Nissi, Bocanada, Café Molido Chabasquén, Café Azul, Café Naciente and Café Aroma de América.
The mayor of Unda, Oswaldo Zerpa, reported that the purpose of this initiative is to connect coffee growers directly with the national market, by creating spaces that allow them to publicize their products and thus receive better benefits from their production.
He indicated that the festival will offer exhibitions from Plaza Bolívar de Chabasquén to the parking lot of the Mayor's Office, where there will also be a tasting contest in which producers will participate with their best coffee.
"The coffee grower who wins the competition will be eligible to have companies purchase the micro-lot of coffee directly from him," Zerpa noted.
The local authority explained that the festival will present a diverse sample of how Venezuelan coffee is produced and processed, and this will include an exhibition on how coffee is prepared in African beds.
Finally, he made a cordial invitation for all the inhabitants of Portuguesa to accompany and participate in the event, whose main objective is to promote the main economic activity of the upper area of the state: coffee growing.
