Today closes the extension of the term so that the political organizations make effective the modification and substitution of candidacies before the National Electoral Council (CNE).
These modifications and substitutions will be reflected in the electoral card for the upcoming elections on November 21, where 23 governors, more than 300 mayors and more than two thousand representatives of the legislative and municipal councils of the country will be chosen.
It should be noted that political parties may continue to present the substitution or modification of candidates between September 27 and until November 11, as established in article 62 of the Organic Law on Electoral Processes (Lopre), which states that “the Applicant organizations may modify the applications they present and, consequently, substitute candidates up to 10 days before the electoral act ”.
Modifications that are made untimely will not be reflected in the electronic ballot issued on November 21.
