This Saturday the vice president for the Social and Territorial Area, Aristóbulo Istúriz, indicated that the state structure must be transformed, so that each commune has the power it has and thus empowers the people.
During a press conference broadcast on Venezuelan Television (VTV), Istúriz emphasized that "tomorrow marks seven years since the coup d'état. It's a turning point in the political process. Chávez said that the structure of the state must be transformed, and to transform that state, power must be vested in the people. We must make the pyramidal structure of government more democratic. Each commune must have the attributes of the state."
In another sense, he asserted that Commander Hugo Chávez entrusted President Nicolás Maduro with protecting the communes as if they were his own life; however, he stated that this "is the responsibility of each and every Bolivarian revolutionary man and woman."
The also Minister for Education, participates this Saturday in the Great March of the common people, which takes place in Caracas, within the framework of the International Congress of Communes and the 7th Anniversary of the Timon Coup by Commander Hugo Chávez.
