The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ratified to all Afro-descendant movements in the world the support and solidarity in all their struggles in any circumstance.
His reaffirmation was made during his intervention in the Afro-responses videoconference against racism in the context of the covid-19, organized by the Cumbe International movement, led by the former Colombian senator Piedad Córdoba.
"Racism is a child of slavery, of colonialism, it's shocking; we express our complete solidarity with the fight against racism," the Head of State asserted.
In his speech, the National President again condemned the murder of George Floyd, an unarmed black man murdered in Minneapolis in police custody, who has been the trigger for protests by the American people in different cities in the United States.
"I reiterate my solidarity and support for the family of the victims of racist police brutality, the family of George Floyd, and all our solidarity and support for the struggles of the people and youth of the United States for equality, against racism, against police brutality, against the oppression of this capitalist society," the President expressed.
In this regard, he highlighted the large youth mobilizations in various cities across the United States against racism, stating: "These people of African descent have awakened and are now holding the banners of historic struggles."
On the other hand, the vice president of Social and Territorial Development, Aristóbulo Istúriz, reaffirmed that Venezuela reiterates its condemnation of the death of Human Rights (Human Rights) by the United States government (USA) and demands an end to police violence against the people of that country, against African Americans, during their participation in the Afro-responses against racism videoconference in the context of Covid-19, organized by the Cumbe International movement, led by the former Colombian senator Piedad Córdoba.
Istúriz emphasized the importance of deepening the political content of Afro-descendant struggles to confront inequality, discrimination, and racism. This requires greater unity with social and political movements, as well as with governments that refuse to back down from imperialist ambitions. "We must continue fighting to change the balance of power," she said.
In his speech he did not stop referring to the murder of George Floyd, an unarmed black man murdered in Minneapolis in police custody, which has been the trigger for the protests of the American people in different cities of the United States, AVN reported
