The governments of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of South Africa reaffirmed their commitment to consolidating their strategic relations this Saturday, through a telephone conversation between Venezuelan Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia and South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola.
In a post on the social network Instagram, the Venezuelan foreign minister specified that, during the conversation, they reviewed the common agenda and ratified the validity of the historical ties of fraternity and joint work that unite both nations in the geopolitical sphere.
He highlighted the positive nature of the diplomatic meeting and announced the shared decision to move towards a new stage in the map of bilateral cooperation.
“I had a pleasant telephone conversation with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Ronald Lamola, with whom we reaffirmed the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between Venezuela and South Africa. We agreed to strengthen the extraordinary bilateral ties between our nations and advance efforts to bring about the First Venezuela-South Africa Joint Commission, aiming to develop the full potential of our political and commercial relationship,” he stated.
It is estimated that the activation of this high-level consultation mechanism will seek to boost investment exchange, economic complementarity and trade, as well as coordinate joint positions in multinational spaces in defense of multilateralism and international law.
