President Delcy Rodríguez begins bilateral agenda and strategic cooperation with official visit to Suriname

The official visit includes a work agenda focused on high-level meetings aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and establishing new economic alliances for the benefit of both peoples.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, arrived at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport in the Republic of Suriname, where she was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation of this nation, Melvin Bouva, representing the Surinamese President, Jennifer Geerlings-Simons.

The official visit includes a work agenda for this Friday, September 11, focused on high-level meetings aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and establishing new economic alliances for the benefit of both peoples.

"We are very committed to our bilateral agenda; we will sign important agreements in various areas of cooperation. I always emphasize that this is the way forward: friendship, cooperation, and a relationship where both countries and both peoples can benefit," he said.

This official meeting seeks to deepen a new stage in bilateral relations, which are reaching 50 years of history, by promoting productive complementarity in strategic sectors such as energy, maritime and air transport, agriculture, fishing, tourism and education.

As part of these advances, both nations plan to finalize the creation of a High-Level Joint Commission and continue recent trade agreements, including the review of Venezuelan agricultural exports to supply the poultry sector and shared technical development.
