The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, participated through a telephone contact in the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples, Workers Chapter, held this Tuesday in face-to-face modalities, in the open spaces of the Teresa Carreño and virtual theater, by videoconference.
Over the phone, Maduro said that "we are facing a new and more powerful force of the popular movement, of the working class, to take on the tasks of transformation and take the reins of the Venezuelan political process."
In this sense, he ordered the creation of an ideological, political, managerial and cultural training plan aimed at strengthening leadership in the 2.420 Workers' Productive Councils.
For this, he set out the fundamental tasks for the consolidation of the country's union strength:
- Consolidate the Union Force and worker leadership.
- Consolidate the Workers' Productive Councils, of which 2.420 already exist in various areas of national life.
- Adjust all plans to recover production, productivity at all levels.
- Recover the national wealth both for exports and production, payment of taxes and tributes.
- Recovery of salary, pensions, collective contracts and living conditions of workers.
- Build a great ideological, political and cultural training system.
"We must think big, act big, as grassroots leaders we must visualize and project ourselves towards 2030, building a free homeland, a great homeland," he stressed.
The Head of State indicated that the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples must build the new route of the Bolivarian Revolution. “The Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples is not just another act, but a new stage of the Bolivarian Revolution whose only guarantee is Popular Power in all spaces, exercising all its magnitude, its strength, being government and self-government. Power in all instances ”.
He specified that several simultaneous meetings of this Congress are taking place daily in all areas, so that on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February the plenary meets to approve the route, the organizational scheme and the plans for this year, heading for 2030.
On the other hand, he urged the creation of comprehensive productive and training schemes, "I expect proposals to support them."
"We have built forces, we have new things. We must renew ourselves to strengthen the revolution (…) We are going to build the new, the best, let's consolidate popular power in the working class," he said.

Through a meeting with the country's working class that was also carried out via videoconference, Minister Piñate expressed: “The Working Class has made a very important productive effort, the most important mass response to defeat the economic war has been the CLAP and the CPTs ”.
He noted that there are more than 2.400 Productive Councils of Workers in basic and strategic industries. "We have more than 100 registered CPTs."
"We have 8 CPTs in the petrochemical sector, 7 in the mining sector, 111 in the pharmaceutical sector, 28 in the cement sector and 389 in other areas or spaces, we continue to advance", specified the head of the Social Work Process portfolio.
He recalled that it was the workers of the Siderúrgica del Orinoco Alfredo Maneiro (Sidor) who came to the front to supply oxygen to the brother people of Brazil, in the face of the health crisis due to COVID-19.
On the other hand, Piñate recognized the Venezuelan people, after the two-year anniversary of the Battle of the Bridges, which took place in the state of Táchira.
