The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted this Wednesday that during the year 2024, 18 laws were approved by the Legislative Branch for the benefit of the Venezuelan people.
This was stated by Rodríguez during a meeting with other parliamentarians and authorities of the country, to formally inform the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, about the start of ordinary sessions of the legislative period 2025-2026 and the composition of the board of directors.
"We passed 18 laws in 2024, they were sanctioned and promulgated by the citizen president of the Republic and this year 2025 is off to a good start, because we are just 48 hours away from the National Assembly of our Republic fulfilling the constitutional duty imposed on it, the oath as established in the Constitution, of the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela who was elected in the elections of July 28, 2024," he said.
He also recalled that the Head of State established in 2023 the need to accelerate the entire process of revolution and organization of communal power "as the fundamental tool that allows us to support the prosperous future of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the National Assembly fulfilled its role by approving the Organic Law of People's Power."
The president of the AN recalled that last year began with the approval of the Organic Law for the Defense of the Essequibo Guayana, and the reform of the Organic Law of Communal Justice of the Peace was added, which gave way to the election of judges of the peace.
Likewise, in response to threats and attacks against the country "by foreign imperial forces and their vassals here in Venezuela and abroad," the Organic Law Liberator Simón Bolívar was approved against the imperialist blockade and in defense of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, for the defense of the country, to reject, repudiate and punish any form of blockade or any request for sanctions against the Republic."
Within the framework of the new economy that is developing in the production process and the construction of a real economy, made by the people, the Law for the Promotion of Non-Oil Exports was also approved, among other regulations.
