China denies theft of tanker carrying Venezuelan oil

Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that Venezuela has the right to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries.

Following the theft of the second oil tanker by US military forces, China rejected this illegal action and expressed its opposition to all forms of unilateralism and intimidation.

In response to this act of piracy by Washington, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that Venezuela has the right to independently develop mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries.

It also maintains that it supports all countries in defending their sovereignty and national dignity.

"China believes that the international community understands and supports Venezuela's position of safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests," the Asian country emphasizes.

It is worth noting that the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, held a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, whom he informed about the current situation in Venezuela, emphasizing that the Venezuelan government and people will firmly defend the sovereignty and independence of the country, firmly safeguard their legitimate rights and will not accept any threats of power politics or intimidation.

The information was disseminated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian through his X account, in which he reiterated that China and Venezuela are strategic partners, and that trust and mutual support are the tradition of Sino-Venezuelan relations.

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced that Venezuela Venezuela has now completed 25 consecutive weeks confronting and defeating a multifaceted campaign of aggression directed by the United States government. The president emphasized the resilience of the Venezuelan people and institutions in the face of what he described as a strategy of harassment encompassing everything from psychological terrorism to acts of force in international waters.

Through his official channels, the head of state condemned the recent acts of piracy that have resulted in the theft of oil tankers. Using educational materials, Maduro explained the distinction between pirates and "privateers," noting that the latter act under the contract and protection of an imperial state. In this context, he directly accused the U.S. administration of employing colonial methods to attack ships carrying Venezuelan crude oil in the Caribbean region.
