Venezuela and North Korea strengthen political-bilateral relations

They addressed the complex situation on the Korean Peninsula due to US interference in the region

The governments of Venezuela and North Korea committed to "deepening bilateral political relations" during a meeting between the Venezuelan vice minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Capaya Rodríguez González, and the North Korean ambassador in Caracas, Ri Sung Gil, in the capital of the South American country, reported by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry's bulletin states that during the meeting, "with the aim of addressing issues of common interest for both nations," the diplomats from Caracas and Pyongyang exchanged points of view on the world situation, highlighting the scenario in Europe and Asia, as well as the complex situation on the Korean Peninsula, a product of the constant interference of the United States in the region.

Ambassador Ri Sung Gil highlighted Venezuela's solidarity support for his country at times of siege by common enemies and took the opportunity to deliver a letter signed by the president of State Affairs of his nation, Kim Jong Un, addressed to the head of Venezuelan State, Nicolás Maduro, on the occasion of the message sent for the 11th anniversary of the death of the Great Líder, Kim Jong Il, highlights the note.

During the meeting, Vice Minister Rodríguez stressed the importance of continuing to fight for the full freedom of the peoples of both countries, and stressed the need to promote cooperation projects that allow mutual economic development.

Both authorities promised to continue working for the deepening of political-bilateral relations and in the near future to carry out visits that leverage the growth of friendship, solidarity and cooperation ties, said the report of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
