Venezuela will not admit a Spanish delegation without invitation for elections

In the CNE accompaniment program for the presidential elections, an observation mission from the Upper House of Spain has not been stipulated

Given the lack of invitation for the presidential elections on July 28, the Venezuelan authorities will not admit the presence in the country of a delegation from the Senate of Spain.

According to a note from Europa Press, the Venezuelan Government reported that the presence of the delegation that the Senate planned to send to the South American nation will not be accepted as it did not receive an express invitation as observers of the aforementioned elections.

According to the text, this medium had access to a verbal note sent by the Venezuelan Embassy to the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, dated July 17, which highlights that in the accompaniment program of the National Electoral Council (CNE) for the presidential "An international monitoring mission" by the Upper House of that country has not been stipulated.

"If parliamentary representatives attempt to violate the electoral regulations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by attempting to enter Venezuelan territory without being part of the aforementioned Electoral Support Program, they will be denied entry," the note stated, according to what was reported by the Spanish media.

Likewise, he commented that this delegation was going to be sent to Venezuela following an invitation made last June by the opposition member María Corina Machado to the members of the Ibero-American Affairs Commission.

Last May, the CNE announced the decision to revoke and annul the invitation made to the European Union (EU) for an oversight mission to participate in the presidential elections.

The President of the Electoral Power, Elvis Amoroso, recalled at that time that the EU ratified the unilateral coercive measures against the people of Venezuela and, consequently, it was agreed to revoke the invitation, stating that "it would be immoral" to allow their participation in light of the neocolonial practices and interventionism implemented against the country.
