Foreign Minister Yván Gil reported on his Telegram channel that 200 tons of construction material, as well as supplies, were sent to Cuba to assist the Cuban people.
Cuba has recently suffered the ravages caused by hurricanes that have passed through the island, as well as high-intensity earthquakes, which have caused damage to infrastructure.
Gil noted that "the Cuban government has always been there to support us, in literacy training, in medical missions, in technical missions for agriculture and food, well, Venezuela is there too. Today they are leaving the port of La Guiara for Santiago de Cuba. We're talking about more than 200 tons of aid in construction materials, support for communities. We're talking about more than 54 items inside those containers, more than 20 containers, and we hope that in the next four or five days, they can arrive."
He pointed out that this is about addressing an emergency that is caused by climate change that has impacted the Cuban nation.
"We will always respond with great solidarity and strength to support our sister nation, Cuba, within the framework of our strategic bilateral alliance, within the framework of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Latin America," he said.
It is worth remembering that on November 6, from Puerto Cabello, Carabobo state, the National Government sent the first humanitarian aid to Cuba
On that occasion, 2 500H kitchen units, 4 single and double mattresses, 10 galvanized zinc sheets, 10 iron pipes and ceiling hooks, and a personal hygiene kit were sent.
