The president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, specified that the
The Organic Mining Law Project is a fundamental tool to organize, manage and defend Venezuela's mineral resources.
In a message posted on social media this Wednesday, Rodríguez also stated that the law, approved last Monday in its first reading, seeks to ensure that the wealth of the country's land translates into well-being for the Republic.
"The members of the National Assembly are working on the Organic Law on Mines, a fundamental tool to organize, manage and defend our mineral resources," she emphasized.
The congressman shared a video of the first debate on the bill. In it, Congressman Orlando Camacho, president of the Permanent Commission on Energy and Petroleum, emphasizes that one of Venezuela's most important assets is its mineral wealth.
In addition to noting that mining activity takes place in non-urbanized areas, Camacho explained that the law establishes guiding principles such as sustainable development, environmental conservation and the economic balance of the contract, legal security, as well as national and foreign investment.
The video also highlights the intervention of the head of Parliament when he pointed out that gold, whether unused or being smuggled, can be converted into hospitals, salaries, highways, agricultural roads, among other things.
It should be noted that the legal guarantees of this law will help generate confidence and attract investment. Furthermore, it includes mechanisms for mediation and independent arbitration for dispute resolution.
