The Minister of People's Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, rejected the Colombian government's accusation of the alleged participation of Venezuela in the attack perpetrated in Saravena.
In a post on Twitter, he expressed: "We know this statement couldn't be missing from the hackneyed and desperate rhetoric of Duque and his gang. But, among other things, I ask: What happened to the deployment of battalions, airborne units, helicopter-borne units, elite forces, and drones? How can we explain it? Blah blah blah," he said.
Colombian Defense Minister Diego Molano Aponte announced a reward of up to 1.000 billion pesos for information leading to the capture of alias Antonio Medina, who, according to the minister, is "the leader of the FARC dissidents and alleged perpetrator of the Saravena attack. This insane act was planned and financed from Venezuela by the dissidents," he said.
A car bomb was detonated in front of the headquarters of the social organizations of Centro Oriente, where the Joel Sierra Human Rights school was being developed, leaving one person dead and five injured, reports the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo.
The attack, which occurred in the Barrio 6 de Octubre, also affected the facilities of the Colombian Agricultural Institute, ICA, and other buildings, including some social organizations.
