Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López warned the United States government not to "dare to set foot on Venezuelan territory," stressing that any action that violates Venezuela's sovereignty would be considered "an aggression against all of Latin America and the Caribbean."
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Minister Padrino López stated, "Make no mistake, here is a worthy FANB and people, with a sense of nationality, ready to defend their sovereignty and self-determination. The homeland is not for negotiation, the homeland is for defense!" following the US military deployment in the Caribbean.
"I tell the United States not to dare to lay a hand here in Venezuela, and I say this on behalf of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), which feels it in its heart and in its blood; because we are not just the FANB, we are a people, all united, who have a national identity, who desire and love peace, who desire and love the homeland," he emphasized.
He warned that even though there are "governments that are so vassal, in love with their imperial masters, the people are still there, and that would be an aggression against all the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean."
This Wednesday, the heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), in the final declaration of the XIII Extraordinary Summit virtual, demanded the immediate cessation of military actions that violate the sovereignty of the region, expressing their support for President Maduro against US persecution. They also warned that "the US military deployment in Caribbean waters, disguised as anti-drug operations, represents a threat to the peace and stability of the region and constitutes a flagrant violation of international law."
