President Nicolás Maduro held a high-level meeting this Friday at Miraflores Palace with a special delegation from the Government of the People's Republic of China, headed by Mr. Qiu Xiaoqi.
“I am very happy to greet you. Thank you for the happiness. And I thank President Xi Jinping for his constant brotherhood, like an older brother, and for his powerful message as a leader for the world,” the Venezuelan president said, accompanied by Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, after receiving the authorities, according to the Presidential Press Office.
This meeting reaffirms the unbreakable nature of the brotherhood between Caracas and Beijing, in a geopolitical context marked by resistance to unilateral coercive measures and the search for sovereign development for the peoples of the global south.
The visiting delegation, led by Qiu Xiaoqi, special representative for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, is made up of key figures in Chinese diplomacy, including the ambassador to Venezuela, Lan Hu, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs such as Liu Bo and Wang Hao.
His Excellency Qiu Xiaoqi reiterated that China and Venezuela are proven strategic partners and emphasized that the Bolivarian Government represents an opportunity for the Asian giant.
The presence of this delegation underscores the importance that China attaches to its relationship with Venezuela, not only as a trade and energy partner, but also as a key political ally in the region.
The diplomatic relations, established in 1974 and elevated to a historic level by the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez and former President Jiang Zemin, constitute a pillar for regional peace and a model of mutual cooperation.
