Maduro demands respect from the US for Venezuelan migrants

"Enough of xenophobia and persecution" asked the Head of State

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, demanded this Wednesday that the Government of the United States (USA) respect the Venezuelan migrants who are in that country. “We have to demand from the United States government absolute respect for migrants from Venezuela.”

During his participation in the anniversary program "Con el Mazo Dando" moderated by the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, the Head of State denounced that today (Wednesday) the United States government launched a campaign through the Voice of America - the White House website - directed by Juan González, to stigmatize "the noble, hard-working, and decent Venezuelan migrants abroad, saying that Venezuelan migrants in the US are criminals. Who says that? Julio Borges, Machado, and the US government."

Maduro denounced that from that portal (La Voz de América) they create content and launch it and it is replicated by dozens of portals, news agencies and media of the right and the world system of Latin America.

"CNN Spanish and the Associated Press—which is part of the CIA—pick it up, then they're reproducing it and trying to get the violent devil and the family names to reproduce their rhetoric against Venezuelan migrants," Maduro emphasized.

In rejecting the accusations against Venezuelan migrants, the President emphatically stated that these people migrated as a result of criminal sanctions, economic suffocation, and the brutal blockade, "and these people are noble, humble, and hardworking."

"To the Venezuelan migrants, we love you, and our love compels us to say, 'Come back! We're waiting for you here. This (Venezuela) is your land. (…) Enough with the xenophobia and persecution," he said.

On the other hand, Maduro warned Venezuelans to prepare because, precisely, at the time of presidential elections, those who oppose the Bolivarian Revolution "will be able to create false positives and lies here and in the world to attack us."

In this regard, he urged not to fall into provocations, "that no one take us away from our agenda, which is to recover this country, lead it to economic prosperity, to the recovery of social well-being and to a great electoral victory in 2024 when it comes, where it comes and how." touch".

Earlier, the sector vice president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, pointed out that the aim is to inoculate a dangerous matrix of opinion that falsely links Venezuelans with armed gangs that operate in the United States, with the aim of promoting a new wave of xenophobia.

The head of the Ministry of Communication and Information also denounced that "the reissue of a media campaign against Venezuela that directly affects our migrant population" is being carried out with "paid posts" such as The Voice of America, which he said is the White House spokesperson and "a swarm of bots and right-wing influencers, who seek to inoculate a dangerous matrix of opinion that falsely links Venezuelans with armed gangs operating in the US. The new wave of xenophobia is accompanied by an implicit threat from the empire that, since Obama's decree, has sought to stigmatize Venezuela."
