The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, spoke this Thursday about the opinion matrix that was known this Wednesday where it is ensured that the Venezuelan diplomat Alex Saab collaborates with the Drug Control Administration (DEA for its acronym in English) from the United States.
In his opinion, "it is strange that Alex Saab is a collaborator in the terms that the US uses, when it is known that he was savagely tortured, that two of his teeth were knocked out by blows; he was kept incommunicado in a flat full of maggots. In addition, he was kidnapped 24 hours before the elections that the criminal president who submitted to the dictates of Washington was going to lose," he said during a press conference.
He said that the Venezuelan government knew about the meetings between Saab and the North American authorities. "Why did they torture him in an unspeakable way? Why do they keep him in inhumane conditions in a prison, in a cell that no human being whose human rights are respected should be kept in? And why do they subject him to constant mechanisms of psychological terrorism? Why was he tortured again and again and again in Cape Verde? It's strange, isn't it?" said Rodriguez.
In this regard, he recalled that the dialogue in Mexico was attacked by the United States, "The United States knows very well how it treats its spies. Ask (Clíver) Alcalá Cordones how they are treating him. Ask Cristopher Figuera how they are treating him. Or ask Rafael Ramírez how they treat him in Europe, how he lives," he said, while assuring that the United States, the European countries and the extreme right know very well that it is very easy to resume the dialogue.
