The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, explained this Tuesday the conditions of the "reformatting of the dialogue" requested by the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
During a meeting of the Commission for Dialogue for Peace and National Reconciliation, he highlighted three key points related to the need raised by President Nicolás Maduro to "reformat" political dialogue in Venezuela.
He explained that this "reformatting" consists of holding an inclusive dialogue "where we can all be represented, where cultural media, fishermen, youth, economic sectors, workers, business, the so-called civil society, academic media, students, among others, are included. All sectors have the right to join the dialogue, to speak in this dialogue process," said Rodríguez from the parliamentary headquarters.
As a second point, he said: "in political dialogue it is clear that there is a map, which, as in all historical circumstances, is changing."
He commented that the political picture of 2006 is not the same as that of Venezuela in 2019 or that of the country after the mega-elections of 2021 "where absolutely all the political forces of the country participated in the process," he emphasized, referring both to the forces that make up the Great Patriotic Pole and to the different factions of the Venezuelan opposition.
"Therefore, it is necessary to look at the post-election political picture to understand that the conditions for dialogue are no longer the same," he said, which is why he proposed the inclusion of all political sectors in the dialogue.
He recalled that some opposition factors have called for invasions, others for violence and have accepted the tutelage of foreign powers and other sectors of the opposition have insisted on their nationalist character and have respected the Constitution.
On the other hand, he explained that a qualitative factor was incorporated into this process of reformatting the dialogue: "When the dialogue was proposed in 2017, it was under the umbrella of political conflict. Now it is a dialogue of a country at peace. Here there are political guarantees for everyone," he said.
Rodríguez explained that the country went from an offensive with the country's economic and political sectors to integrating all sectors.

During the press conference, he highlighted that they have received an instruction from President Nicolás Maduro to hold an intensive round of consultations and meetings with all the factors of the Venezuelan opposition, as well as economic and social factors.
"We are going to ask for a meeting with all the heads of the Venezuelan opposition political parties and with Dr. Gerardo Blyde," he said.
"We want to know the true perspectives of the Venezuelan people. There is a country beyond these things. We are moving on to a work offensive with important meetings so that the reformatting of the dialogue can take place," he added.
Finally, the president of the parliament explained that the collected needs will be worked on and when the conclusions of the contributions and needs of the people are reached, the new dialogue process will take place.
