This Wednesday, September 22, the period provided for political parties to present modifications and / or substitutions of candidates on the electoral ballot ends.
This was announced by the electoral body through its Twitter account, where it published: "According to the schedule for the Regional and Municipal Elections, this Wednesday the 22nd is the deadline for Organizations with Political Purposes to submit modifications and/or substitutions of candidacies, so that they are reflected on the voting instrument."
According to information from the CNE, once this deadline has passed, political parties may make substitutions or modifications in their nominations, but they will not be reflected in the voting ballot and electoral instruments, for technical and logistical reasons.
This second phase of substitutions and modifications will begin on September 27 and will end on October 22 for the list positions; and until November 11 for nominal positions.
The Organic Law on Electoral Processes establishes that candidate organizations may substitute candidates in the event of death, resignation, physical or mental disability (duly certified by the competent authority), or for constitutional or legal reasons.
