The Bolivarian National Armed Forces of Venezuela rejects the coup plans called in recent weeks by a representative of the extreme right.
In a message to the nation -transmitted on a national chain- Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López asserted that the FANB has a fundamental role established in the Constitution.
"The FANB has a constitutional role to fulfill. There is no need for anyone to use the Armed Forces. With these words, we want to tell you that the FANB is here, ready and willing to carry out free and fair elections as the greatest expression of national peace," said Padrino López.
Recently, the fugitive from justice, Antonio Ledezma, assured a foreign media outlet that the opposition member María Corina Machado will seek to provoke civil disobedience and a military insurrection in the country.
For these statements, last Monday, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced that an arrest warrant was issued against Ledezma for his statements that aim to "call death" and the confrontation between Venezuelans.
Padrino López expressed the willingness of the FANB to guarantee peace in the nation, in view of the upcoming elections.
The also Sector Vice President of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, asserted that the soldiers will be distributed in all voting centers, guaranteeing the security of the homeland.
"We will act in any circumstance that may arise. We expect the FANB to act within a civic framework, because it is a civic act. The FANB will act in a civic manner, showing signs of unity," he said.
Later, he read a statement in which he recalled that since 2014, approximately 20 conspiracy plans against the Homeland and against the President of the Republic and commander-in-chief of the FANB, Nicolás Maduro, have been dismantled.

In this regard, the commander of the REDI Capital, Major General Johan Alexander Hernández Lárez, said, "We are the children of Bolívar and Chávez, we are dedicated to the defense of the nation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela regardless of the vicissitudes we have to face, we belong to a particularly professional military organization organized with the state to guarantee the independence and sovereignty of the nation, and to ensure the integrity of the geographic space through military defense, cooperation, maintenance of internal order, and active participation in national development in our territory."
